Solar PV Systems

Solar PV systems can be installed on rooftop areas of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. A solar PV system is a sustainable, low-maintenance option for anyone who wants to contribute to a greener environment, as the system does not cause any pollution or emissions and has numerous advantages.

An on-grid system is tied to your local utility’s grid. In this instance, whether your solar system under or over-produces, your utility providers’ system will act as battery space.

On-grid systems make sense for locations with no daytime power cut or with less than 2 hours of daytime power cut. This type of system is apt for reducing your electricity bills since it is cheaper than a battery-based system and there is no recurring cost of replacement of components.

An off-grid PV system refers to an installation that is not connected to the electricity grid. This means that all the energy produced is stored and used on site. Essentially, off-grid photovoltaic systems operate from the energy stored in a battery bank.

The term hybrid traditionally referred to two separate sources of energy, such as wind and solar combined. However, in the solar energy world, the term ‘hybrid’ refers to a combination of solar and energy storage, which is connected to the electricity grid.

The benefit of a hybrid solar system is that you will always have power in any situation. With a backup battery, the excess energy that your solar panels create (but your home does not use), will be stored in this battery. Then, when the sun is not shining, this battery will provide your power during the night, system blackouts or inclement weather.
